This feature makes us different than others.

Technically Correct Spectacles Are Our Forte!!!

Over the past 20 years, our expert ground the glasses as per technical measurements and is therefore, trusted for its high precision and scientific approach in spectacle dispensing giving you crystal clear sharp vision. It is the specialty which makes us different from others

Measuring Pupillary Distance Of Your Eyes

It measures the distance between your eyes to ensure your pupils are aligned with the optical centre of lenses. If the two don’t match up, the prescription won’t be as effective and you could experience headaches and eye-strain.

Pupillary Distance (PD) is measured in millimetres and even a slight variation can cause a number of vision and eye health problems. PD measurement is essential for children; persons with high cylindrical power; persons with high prescription power and for persons wearing bifocal and progressives. Taking accurate PD measurements requires comprehensive knowledge and technical skill. Our optometrists have been specially trained in correct measurement techniques and have access to sophisticated tools that can produce an accurate measurement.

Marking Optical Center On Your Glasses

Your opticalcenter (OC) is the positioning of your pupils inside your eye that gives you the truest vision. The optical center of your lens should be aligned with the pupillary center of the eye. If not measured accurately, it can result in blurry vision, eyestrain and headache. Experts at TEC are trained to position optical center of lens to pupillary center of the eye.

Measuring Vertex Distance

This refers to the distance between a person’s eyes and the back of the eyeglasses frame. This particular measurement is especially important for high prescription power, since a frame that sits too close may alter the effectiveness of the lens prescription.

Recognize The Role Of The Base Curve Of Lenses

A base curve refers to the curvature of the lenses. If this curve is even slightly off, the wearer’s vision can become distorted or impaired. This is why the base curve must always coordinate with a customer’s prescription, his or her face shape, and the frame which they have selected. Our optometrists are specially trained to measure the base curve of a lens with sophisticated tools to give you best comfort.

Measuring Pantoscopic Angle

The pantoscopicangle is the angle at which the vertical plane of the lens lies in relation to the vertical plane of the face. Incorrect angles will induce a relative change in the prescribed power. Our optometrists are specially trained to measure the Pantoscopic angle with sophisticated tools to give you best comfort. If measured inaccurately, patients with progressive glasses may find it difficulty in working on computer and reading up close.

Measuring Segment Heights

The segment height is the distance between the bottom of the lens and the bifocal line. This measurement is useful for making bifocal and progressive lenses. If not measured accurately, it can cause difficulty in distance, intermediate and near vision especially with progressive glasses.

We Follow“ANSI” (American National Standards Institute) Standards At Our Opticals

The standard for personal Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices. All our frames and glasses are certified under the standard for ANSI Z87.1 and they pass following tests

  • Basic and high-impact for lenses and frames.
  • Exposure to non-ionizing radiation and chemicals.
  • Durability to flammables and corrosion.

How To Assess Ratings Of Safety Eyeglasses And Goggles

Plus mark - To determine if a lens has passed the high velocity test. Look for the "+" mark that indicates its approval at high impact. "V" and "S" marks - Other lens markings that appear on safety lenses are "V" (indicating the lens is photochromic) and "S" (indicating the lens has a special tint).
